This week I thought a lot more about my paper and my writing style. I have never been good at formal anything. Formal events. Formal presentations. Especially formal writings. I had a hard time sounding sophisticated and taking myself seriously. I personally feel sophisticated wiring lacks a level of emotional grasp on a reader that informal writings have. I have always felt sophisticated writing sounds condascending and I have a hard time being able to get through it. I find personal readings to be more comedic and it is all about what this is class is about. It almost feels as if someone is speaking to your and making you feel about the topic. I also feel kids respond best to this sort of communication, kids never respond well to being told what to do or think. You have to talk to them like a kid sometimes, and this idea helped my shape the kind of writing I did for my paper. My writing style has always been a little messy and sometimes I get a little convoluted, but I tried to get a little more straight to the point in my paper. I wanted it to mirror that sort of kiddie mindset into my paper. Something that feels very personal and feels like someone is speaking to you, rather than someone speaking down to you. I find this to be extremely beneficial to getting my points and ideas across since I do not have a large vocabulary. Of course not everyone responds to things like I do, so I still had to make sure my ideas were not underdeveloped and I did not leave things to be completely unorganized. I found to hard to find a happy medium between having a personal level of writing that still carried the impact of my ideas and evidence.
