13th Week of Thoughts

This is the week of Thanksgiving and I did my response last week on gratitude so I wanted to write through my thought process on my final. I am in the middle of reading and watching 13 Reasons Why. I am currently reading a chapter, then watching the episode on it. I found this method to be very helpful to instantly see the differences between the two. As time went on however I started to realize how unimportant the differences were. The story was still about Hannah, and how Clay handled hearing one of his friends explain his life story to her. The book focused so much Hannah and Clay and yeah it was interested. but the show showed all of the kids. The pressure they were put under, the stress they handled. Yes each of them did do horrible things, or maybe the thing they did was small. But they all now lived with the impact of what they did, and how they handled it. They have just as an important role in the story as Clay and Hannah do. I mean they are the story, and the show finally portrays parts we do not see. We see Jessica’s struggle with what she did to her friend, and what Bryce did to her. How Justin battles with his mom and not having a place to stay. Finally Jenny who even tries to fix her wrongs. The show shows much more of the impact of Hannah’s letters than the book does, and that is the point of my final. The impact Hannah’s letters had on not only her, but the kids she wrote them about. I want to explore how each of them affected Hannah, and how each of their actions now falls on them.
